Whitfield is a peaceful, leafy suburb within an easy 10 minute drive to Cairns City. The closest bus stop is 800 m from the house and there is plenty of parking on the road.

There are 2 rooms available, both with air conditioning. One room is $120/week for 1 person or $200/week for a couple.

The owner is Anthony, a 35 year old friendly Australian who manages a local retail shop. He is looking for a clean, friendly flatmate who will respect the home and is easygoing. There is another girl who lives beneath the house in a separate unit, and a friendly cat visits the house regularly.

The first room (pictured) is spacious with built in wardrobe, air conditioning, polished wooden floors, large windows and a queen size bed provided (linen is not included so BYO). This room is $120/week for 1 person or $200/week for a couple. The second room is unfurnished and slightly smaller with polished floors, window and air conditioning and is suitable for person for $95.00/week. There is one bathroom to share and there is an internet and telephone line to the house which is not connected (tenants are welcome to connect themselves). The rent includes all water and laundry use, and the electricity costs are split.

The Room is large and has a double bed for $100/week (single use). Includes all electricity, water, reasonable use of air conditioning.

Mark and Junnie are looking for a clean, quiet tenant who is happy to live independently. They would prefer a social drinker (as they do not drink) and smokers would be asked to smoke outside only. Mark also works long hours and Junnie is working and studying so they enjoy relaxing at home on the weekends. Mark's daughter visits every second weekend and they usually are not home.

Room 1 has a double bed for $160/week (single use), or $225/week (2 persons). Room 3 is huge and has a double bed for $200/week (single use), or $250/week (2 persons). Includes all electricity, water, reasonable use of air conditioning and wireless internet access.

Raj and Ari are a young professional couple looking for clean, friendly people to rent rooms in the downstairs apartment in their beautifully renovated Queenslander home. They have two friendly labrador dogs who love swimming in the pool.

It feels like your miles away from the city but you are so close to schools, shops, public transport and only 10 mins from JCU and Northern beaches, and 15 mins into Cairns City. House has large outdoor entertaining area with gorgeous inground swimming pool, backs onto parkland and guests have access to a pool table, foozball table, competition trampoline and maybe even a ride in Salvatores boat when he goes fishing on the weekends.

2 single rooms available priced from $120 - $140 (see room details) Price includes reasonable use of electricity, water, air conditioning and laundry facilities.

The owner's names are Tammy and Salvatore. Tammy works as a guide taking people on horse riding tours and Salvatore is a chef at an Italian restauant. On the weekends they enjoy going fishing on his boat, or enjoying the fantastic entertainment area with pool/bar at their home, or visiting Lake Placid. This house really is designed to enjoy the laid back lifestyle of tropical north Qld. They enjoy travel, cooking, food, horseriding, fishing, sport, dancing and music and are looking for flatmates aged 18 - 29 to share their home. They have a cat but other animals are welcome.

Room1 has a single bed looking out at the yard and features built in wardobes and study desk. There is air conditioning in this room and a TV connection available to use. The room has a window, bedside table and security screens. The room is $140/week for single use, or they can put another bed in the room for 2 people at the low price of only $80 per person per week ($160/week). Room 2 is exactly the same except there is only one single bed available and the room does not have air conditioning, therefore the price is only $120/week. Internet is not available.

The house has been designed to reflect the tropical lifestyle of Cairns, and the owners' passion for wildlife photography and travel. There is a twin room downstairs available to rent with own private access and bathroom/outdoor seating area.

The price for this room is $95 per person per week including electricity and water (internet is not available). The upstairs bedroom is also available for $95 per person per week.

David & Kerstin are a retired couple with a love for nature and the outdoors. In their previous lives they were professional photographers and guides, and love hosting international guests in their home. They are very security conscious and offer a clean, quiet haven to relax. David & Kirsten will not only help the students settle in but take them shopping each week, teach them to cook and help them with their language studies. Perfect for female JCU student or couple who are looking for a private, quiet home where they can live independently and only 1 km from the university and easy access to the city (bus stop at front of house).

Only $140 single/week or $180/double/week includes electricity, water, reasonable use of air conditioning. Internet is available for an extra $5/week.

Cheryl has been living in the property for over 20 years and loves her home. She spends a lot of time gardening and DIYing around the house and is looking for a clean, private couple or female guest to rent out her rooms. Cheryl leads a very busy life and is looking for housemates who are reasonably quiet, independent and friendly. No party animals welcome in this tranquil spot please!

This granny flat is perfect for students or families or even just couples! It is a 3 bedroom apartment at the rear of a large, fenced property. An easy 5 minute walk to the Raintrees Shopping Centre and the bus stop is right at the front of the house.

The property features huge gardens, a childrens playhouse, 2 friendly dogs and a lovely pool. The apartment features an open air kitchen with huge covered outdoor sitting area and separate bathroom for the flat. The price structure is as follows:

1 x twin room (2 king singles in room) - $80 pp (2 people) or $130 single use.

1 x twin room (2 king singles in room) - $80 pp (2 people) or $130 single use.

1 large room with Queen Bed and an additional single bed - $80 pp (2 people) or single use $160 and an extra $80 pp for the second bed.

The owners John & Wendy do not live onsite at the property. Most of the guests are JCU students. Prefer JCU students who are looking to stay 3-6 months minimum.

Stratford is an older suburb, which means big blocks and very green. Shops close to house include deli, butcher, general store, hair-dresser, take-away, Doctor, Beauty Salon and Post Office. Stratford has several excellent restaurants on your door step. New library available and bus stop with less than 9 km into town. Very close to local creeks for cooling down and local walks. Overall the suburb has a great vibe and friendliness.

The rent is $160/week (1 person only) and electricity and internet bills would be shared.

The owner Nicola lives onsite and is looking for a friendly, clean flatmate to share her lovely home (preferable 25 years +).  Nicola enjoys cooking and the kitchen is well setup with gas etc.
